HM Queen's 90th Birthday
Her Majesty the Queen's 90th Birthday celebration weekend, Saturday 11th and Sunday12th June 2016
The weekend started Saturday night with a rousing concert in the church attended by over 80 people who enjoyed wine and nibbles whilst enjoying the superb music played by Cranbrook Town Band .
After a wet start for the party preparations on Sunday the weather cleared for everyone to enjoy the afternoon sunshine and the festivities which included the childrens tea party, the teddy bears picnic and live entertainment and games, into the evening.
A hog roast and barbeque was provided outside, whilst inside the Village Hall there was tea and cakes,a bar and tombola. The younger children were entertained with pass the parcel and a life size teddy bear made a surprise appearance much to the delight of the children.
The Parish Council would like to thank the Friends of Rolvenden Church, and The Rolvenden Fete Committee and all the helpers for again arranging a very successful weekend for the village in celebration of Her Majesty the Queen's 90th Birthday.
